Member of European Parliament Steven Woolfe, considered the frontrunner to take over from Nigel Farage as leader of the U.K. Independence Party, may be disqualified from running altogether after missing the leadership ballot deadline, British media reports.

Woolfe submitted his application at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, with 25 minutes to go before the noon deadline, but it only went through at 12:17 p.m., according to Woolfe’s spokesperson, the Guardian reports.

The spokesperson said the error was a result of a “technical issue” and Woolfe would still run for leader.

UKIP has yet to confirm whether Woolfe will still be eligible, with a party spokesperson saying that decision would be made on Tuesday.

Woolfe’s pitch to run UKIP has been patchy, according to the Guardian. He faced being excluded from the race after claims his party membership had lapsed for over a year.

Woolfe is running to replace Farage, who stood down from UKIP’s top job after Britain’s vote to leave the EU. There are four other candidates for the position: Lisa Duffy, Jonathan Arnott, Bill Etheridge and Liz Jones, according to the Guardian.
