The president of France, François Hollande, has no chance of making it into the second round of voting in next year’s election, according to a poll.
Hollande would not gather enough support to make it past the first round against any of his opponents, according to the Elabe poll for Les Echos and Radio Classique.
The National Front’s Marine Le Pen would make it to the run-off regardless of who opposed her, the poll indicated. She would likely be up against either former French President Nicolas Sarkozy or ex-Prime Minister Alain Juppé, who would make it past the first round if they win the nomination for France’s Républicains, the poll showed.
Elabe surveyed a total of 922 voters on September 20 and 21.
