SYDNEY â A junior staffer in Australian Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull’s office has been suspended over an “inappropriate” Facebook post about U.S. President Donald Trump, Australian media reported.
Turnbull’s office on Friday suspended the staffer, an executive assistant to the PM’s chief of staff, after Australian radio personality Ben Fordham alerted the prime minister’s office of a three-month-old post on her Facebook page of a photo of a T-shirt with the words “Tuck Frump.” Fordham said the shirt promotes the anti-Trump website tuckfrump.com.
Fordham told his radio listeners the PM’s office described the post as “inappropriate.” The staffer had deleted the photo from her account, Fordham said.
The incident comes in the wake of revelations of a toxic phone call between the Australian prime minister and Trump over the weekend.
The call reportedly went south over a refugee swap arrangement between the two countries, which Trump called âthe worst deal ever.â The U.S. president then said the conversation was âthe worst call by farâ of the five with world leaders he had had that day and hung up abruptly.
