Islamic State claimed responsibility for Saturday’s terror attack on London Bridge and Borough Market.
In a statement released through its Amaq news agency, ISIS said the assailants were “a detachment of Islamic State fighters.â
Authorities in central London confirmed seven victims have been killed, at least 48 hospitalized, and three attackers shot dead by police. Twenty-one of the victims remain in a critical condition.
It was the third terror attack in Britain this year.
British Prime Minister Theresa May said on Sunday that the country’s election would go ahead as scheduled on Thursday, but indicated the U.K. would have to alter its response to terrorism.
